Description

One of Andrea’s earliest memories was lying still in bed, paralyzed with fear while waiting to be assaulted by the person hiding in her home. Although there was never actually someone in her home, her fear and paranoia persisted. As she grew up, Andrea appeared healthy, well-organized, and well-adjusted. No one noticed how many times she checked locks, cleaned until she started shaking, and avoided being alone in the dark. At 24, she was finally diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

In OCD Hiding in Plain Sight, Andrea dives deep into her childhood fears and experiences to find the incidents and patterns that lead to her obsessions and compulsions becoming so severe. She shares real journal entries from her time in OCD treatment, letting readers see exactly how she processed her diagnosis and confronted her fears and compulsions.

Andrea’s journey from loss and anger to hope and recovery has been full of barriers, breakthroughs, and everything in between. Her story provides valuable insights into the mind of someone struggling with severe OCD and gives hope to those currently suffering with the symptoms and stigma of OCD.

Highly recommend this book! This is a great read about someone being diagnosed with and then dealing with oCD. It’s very well written and an easy read that lets you understand the mindset of someone going through this. I would recommend This to anyone, especially if they have any mental struggled of their own to deal with.
